CEL on please help!!!
Ok. I have a 93 civic ex an my CEL(check engine light) is on. I checked the code an it came up to Code-19 which is "Automatic transmission lockup control valve. " the reason im on here and not fixing the issue is because i have no idea why the light is on because i have a "MANUAL" transmission and "NOTTTTT" an automatic. Can someone please help me an let me know what i need to do. Thanks in advance.

How long have you had the car? Anything done to it? Answers will still lead me to say check reference your ecu serial numbers to see if it's from an automatic. Swap with one from a manual civic

Aight so i've had the car for about 6monthes now but i've never drove it. I recently wantd to go get the tag but had no emmision cause the CEL was on. Ran the code an got Code19. But as far as i can the motor was swapped. It came with a Z6 but now it has a D16a. Also i had an extra ecu lien around from an 93 5spd coupe so i put it in an the code went away.

Re: CEL on please help!!!
Yeah, seems that either
1: the previous owner converted from auto to manual at the time or before they swapped in the d16a, and simply neglected to change/convert the ECU as well
2: the car has always been manual and the auto ecu went in with the d16a and noone bothered to swap/convert it.
The obvious has now been stated. Just in case someone couldn't follow along.

Re: CEL on please help!!!
Ok so found the Ecu that i had lieng around and swapped it out. Code 19 went away but the light is still ok so i ran this code an its reading
Code 7- Throttle Position Sensor
I went to advanced buy my job an picked up a brand new sensor since i get a discount an when i went home i immediately started putting it in. Here were the steps i took.
1. Took the negative terminal off the battery.
2. Broke the screws off of the old sensor.
3. Took the old sensor out.
4. Scraped excess from old gasket off with razor blade.
5. Put new gasket an sensor in.
6. Plugged sensor up.
7. Waited about 20minutes to connect the negative terminal an start the car because i was hungry ao i grabbed pizza.
8. Connected "-" terminal back an started car.
9. Damn light was "STILL ON" reading the same code.
Did i do anything wrong in this process, what could be the problem?
