CEL P0300, P0303, P0304
Hey guys,
I have yet another issue with my high mileage civic. I recently finished changing the camshaft oil seal and the oil pump seal because they were leaking. The car was running great until one day I was at a light. I accidentaly had the car in 3rd instead of first and tried to car. Obviously the car shook and wouldn't really go anywhere. I threw the car in first and then took off. Further down the road my car started acting funny like the clutch kept disengaging or something or like it was ruuning out of fuel. A couple more miles down the road my CEL started blinking so I pulled her over then shut her down. The codes i got were P0300, P0303 and P0304. They stand for 'cylinder misfire detected', 'cylinder 3 misfire detected', and 'cylinder 4 misfire detected' respectively. I just changed my spark plugs and I can't imagine two wires went out at the same time. When I start my car the idle fluctuates, the car shakes, and the engine sounds like ti's running of 2 cylinders. What could be wrong?

I had the exact same thing happen, except in 5th gear, no P1399 code yet. Car runs like a diesel truck. What was your resolution. Factory service manual says to start looking @ the fuel delivery (pressure, filter, etc).

Update...went and bought a compression tester...ZERO compression no. 4 cylinder, 180/5 on 3 and 190/195 on 1 and 2. I guess I will be pulling the head tomorrow, hope it's just a head gasket. 2005 Civic 112,000 miles.

I know this is an old post, but I'm having the same problems. I'm getting the same codes, the same thing happens when I start my car, the only difference is that mine is automatic. I don't think that should make a difference though, right? I had new spark plugs put in, a new head gasket, a new distributor, and I did the fuel injector treatment. The past three times my check engine light turned on I went to Advanced to have them run the codes and all three times it suggested a serpentine belt. Did you ever get the problem resolved? Can you give any feedback on what to do next?
