cel number 3 ( map) on a 93 del sol w/ 94 gsr swap
hey everyone im haveing a bit of a problem i have tried searching for the answer to find nuttin yet . im throwing a map sensor code (cel # 3) and wat happens is that when i start the car it kinda sputters then takes off like to 1 grand on the tach but when i engage the clutch and put it in to gear it starts to sputter after it drops below 900 rpm. i have two map sensor plugs . one on the gsr motor wire harness and the other from the del sol s fire wall one. ive tried both and replaced the map sensor.. also the TB gets stuck close sometimes and i tried to use carb cleaner i no newbie move and i think thats wat messed stuff up .... theres another sensor on the TB do u think that could throw the map code instead of the map sensor . and wat pressure should i be runnin my FPR on?? please any help would be great

use the map sensor plug from the fire wall and leave the one on the harness hanging for the map sensor that is...
also make sure u did not mix up the tps plug with the map sensor plug...
its easy to do that...
if you want, reference the colors of the wire from ur old motor for the tps.
im pretty sure this is ur problem not fuel pressure...

1 O2A - Oxygen sensor #1
2 O2B - Oxygen sensor #2
3 MAP - manifold absolute pressure sensor
4 CKP - crank position sensor
5 MAP - manifold absolute pressure sensor
6 ECT - water temperature sensor
7 TPS - throttle position sensor
if im throwing a code..3... and code 5 is map sensor too then wat makes them diffrent is one electircal the other physical..?

Re: cel number 3 (mighty_max99)
3 = MAP Sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure) defective circuit or unplugged / defective sensor
5 = MAP Sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure) mechanical problem / disconnected piping
* not 94-95
http://www.c-speedracing.com is ur friend
not sure with the colors of the tps but on the gsr harness it is sorta obvious which goes to the map and which goes to the tps...
the tps should be the shorter one and the map is the longer one on the gsr harness...u shouldn't even be using the map sensor from the gsr harness use the map plug from your firewall..
