you will need to know the code it is throwing to determine whether it's a hard code (throwing the ecu into safe mode) or a soft code.

Re: CEL....ECU related (poison)
if it was a hard CEL..resetting the battery wouldn't have fixed the problem would it?? so any ideas as to why the CEL came on with what i did?

Re: CEL....ECU related (Sohc Driver)
if you reset the ecu, and the light does not come on, it's most likely not a hard code.
a hard code will throw the ecu into safe mode because the ecu thinks that whatever sensor/solenoid is not working may cause the engine to blow/cease.
a soft code will not affect much on the motor from allowing to run properly, and in resetting the ecu, and not throwing cel, it was most likely a soft code that you will not need to worry about; unless, of course, if it pops back up.
unfortunately, i have no idea of as to what the code you were throwing.

but i meant..i had the key in..while i was replugging the old ECU.......know what i mean..the igntion was on....while i was doing it...maybe when i was pluggin in the ECU..it freaked out....noticing that a plug was missing..because when i plugged in the 2nd plug..everything electronic turned on...im thinking..the ECU freaked out...
