CEL code 21 and 22 Vtec- HELP!!
a month ago my motor wasnt hitting vtec and was throwing a cel when vtec is upposed to kick in, Now i did a new rebuild, new beaings, head, rings, everything. I go for a drive and the same thing is happening. Before i though it was sumthing mechanical but now its a new motor and still the same thing. What can this be?? CEL will only go on when its about to hit vtec.

Re: (RaYnE)
I would definitiely say wiring !! Check the wires at the ECU and your engine harness , get a diagram of what it should look like and double check it

its a d16z6, the car was non vtec but now it is. I have 2 seperate wires running to the ecu. If i switch em around a cel goes on right away so they are right.

are you using a p28 ecu?
did you test the solenoid?
are you oil levels ok?
check your wiring again at both ends.
i just got my vtec working on my b16 and it ended up being a bad/old broken connection on the solenoid side.

would wiring cause the cel only to go one when im driving when vtecs about to hit? Also once the car turns off it goes off. I would think that wiring would cause a cel to be solid and on all the time
