Default CEL after VAFC install

I got my VAFC hooked up, and everything works fine but on the way to work yesterday I noticed the check engine light comes on, well it did that before and I just ran an OBD2 test on it and it was from the test pipe. Well I ran it again and it says something about manufacturer specific DTC. I went to the apexi website and it says that the CEL comes on because of a VTM signal wire not being hooked up correctly, and my car doesnt have a VTM wire...any other reasons it could cause a CEL?

I would double check all the connections and the wiring diagram supplied by APEXi. Sounds like you might have one of the wires crossed or not hooked up correctly.

Might want to search through the archives...there's a lot of info here about the VAFC.

So you think I should pretty much re-wire the whole thing?

how did u connect the wires? crimp? solder?
did you put the brown ground closer to the ecu and give about 1 cm between the brown and black wires?

I crimped them, and yes the brown is closer to the ecu than the black...

No...just double check the pin outs and make sure your tapping all the right wires.

I second the solder motion...
