Default CEL 3 map sensor

Aight guys I have a CEL and I checked and it was 3, so I wasnt sure if it really was so i unplugged to make sure it was really messed up. I try unplugging it and driving and the car dies but when i put it back in its fine. Is it really a bad map sensor?? or is it something else?

If your MAP sensor has gone bad, or is going bad, you would see bad gas mileage, and the motor wouldnt feel as peppy, or just feel like its bogging. You should look into getting it replaced ASAP.
