well i have a 95 ej with a d15b and my ecu is throwing code #22
my question is has anybody encountered this? ive asked my friends on how to fix it and they have no clue and i was wondering if somebody could maybe help me out and just give me an idea of what to do and from there ill figure something out thanks in advance

okay i just googled it and now i know where it is shouldve done that first before asking but now onto the whole fixing thingy it looks like something you just tighten? or loosen?

just look for it, unscrew the sensor, and try to clean it. and see if that works. also check our oil level. make sure its in between the dipstick marks. and make sure your using thicker motor oil such at 10w or something and not 5w.

so i just take that out? i havent looked at mine yet ill look at it tomorrow morning but it looks like its connected to the solenoid, if its all connected to the solenoid id have to spray it all down right?

bingo.. now you sure your oil level is up to the correct level on the dipstick? it could be something as simple as no oil or maybe an oil change. also what kind of motor oil are you using?

i use mobil 1 clean 5000 miles 5w-30 i thought it was fully synthetic but guess not ill check the oil tomorrow morning but i have afeeling its not the oil, i got the light before i changed my oil and i changed my oil and the light was still there

its weird i have the same motor, and when i push my car past 7400 that CEL comes on and VTEC stops working untill i flip the key.

not to thread jack but i got the same code after i did my mini me and i still dont have vtec but no code anymore, im using 5w20 synthtic...should i run thicker?

okay i checked my oil just now its pretty much on the first dot and a little bit over but thats nothing really, so if i run 10w-30 problem solved? and if not clean the solenoid

sorry, just had to ask. its been done more then you would think
i would say check all the sensors that vtec looks at before engageing. like ECT, VSS, and oil pressure. if they all look good and your oil level is right and still nothing then i would try thicker oil, never heard of that being a problem but guess its worth a shot.
