CEL 08. TDC sensor??? WTF. please help.
I recently had my car into the shop and my distributer, rotor, cap, everything were replaced. He said he checked my timing and everything. Now. 2 weeks later. I have a CEL 08. And its the TDC sensor in the Distributer. I dont know what to do. My car is running like crap. Should i not drive on it?? It also feels as if i have no vtec. could the plugs just have gotten fixed?

could be a defective distributor. I've had a brand new distributor from honda go bad on me before. I would suggest to you to tell the mechanic to replace the distributor for another new one. also the TDC sensor is inside the distributor.

I dont think resetting it would help since you been driving for like 2 weeks and no problem. Your distributor should have warrenty so give that machanic a call and see what he thinks.

The only way to replace the TDC sensor (or the CKP/CYL) is to replace the distributor housing. Aftermarket dizzy's seem to have a higher failure rate than an OEM piece - FYI.
What could also be happening is that the bushing inside the dizzy has become worn to the point where its allowing the shaft to 'vibrate', which in turn cause variations of the TDC output signal (I believe its the TDC sensor that is most effected by a worn bushing).
Take off the distributor cap....notice any brown/red dust accumulating?

Anyway. should i take it all the way off and look for something. What should i look for. Is the stock timing on the distributor side right in the middle?? i dont have a timing light so should i just put the distributor in the middle somewhere when i put it back on?? Again what should i be looking for with my TDC sensor problem.
