Caught Between NA and Boost Need Your Opinion
Im not much of a poster on this site i like to just look around and read about interesting **** but i need your guys opinion on something. I'm currently building a 93 VX and im stumped on what kinda of motor to put in i have one of two options
Option 1: Single Cam Vtec On Boost
The motor will be stock with the exception of ARP Head studs running a RB25 T3 T04 Turbo, Fair size cooler, 38mm Wastegate, Turbo smart bov, 450 injectors, Log Manifold and i will be putting around 9 - 10 psi ( should be around 200 at the wheels)
Option 2: B20 Vtec
The motor will be built with a B20B block GSR head, AEM cam gears, JG Edlebrock Intake manifold, Type R Cams ( sould be around the same 200 at the wheels)
Now is where i need your help, What do you guys think and why
Thanks

the jg edlebrock manifold would be overkill. with just type r cams. and i think 200 hp with a log style manifold might take a little more work then your willing to do.
if you are going to make a crvtec motor then you should really probly build the bottom end considering the stock redline on those motors is around 7k and with a vtec head you will be reving past 8k, alot of people spin therre rod bearings on stock crv bottom ends. and also 200 whp on a crvtec motor with just a gsr head and type r cams is probly not to realistic. you should really do a lot more reserch before you actully go any of these directions. plus there are a ot mor things that you will ahve to consider getting for either one of these swaps. good luck on your journey.
just remember building a single cam may seem easier becaue thats what you already have. but in the long run the dohc will be a much better becaue you will need to put quite a bit of money into the sohc to make it even compete with a dohc
