cats
i just got an ls vtec swap. all i have done to it is ITR pistons and cams. im going to be dino tunning it after its broken in at Churches in Hunington Beach (i believe its there). Im going to try to get my header and at least an intake manifold before i tune ( so i dont have to tune after i get them) so i figure when i do my header i may as well re-do my stock piping. what size is stock piping? cause i was thinking about going to 2.5 all the way back (and getting a hi-flow cat off ebay, just so i have a cat if a cop looks under).
Im just not really sure what size the piping is now though. any help guys?

Re: cats (Pr0ject93hb)
In case a cop looks under? You are going to be fucked because of your motor, who cares about the $50 ebay cat. Might as well go with a silencer or test pipe for a cat.
Why are you worrying about a $50 part when you have a $2000 motor that is illegal?

Um, somewhere on the exhaust pipe near the manifold maybe?
Running without a cat, especially in California, is ridiculous. It doesn't flow much more than a "high-flow cat" off of ebay.
I am going to laugh when your next thread is, "Help, need OEM cat converter for ref test". Just leave it like it is, and like sicky said, you may want to worry about that motor being illegal first and foremost.

Re: cats (.Red.EM2)
im going to re-do all my piping. my next thread wouldnt be help i need a new cat...i would keep my old oem one anyways. and also, he has a point. my ls vtec is never going to ref, so why worry about reffing cause of my cat. i know the silence goes on the exhaust pipe, i was just curious if it really mattered where on the pipe.
