Default Catback compatibility

I have a 95 DX hatch, has the stock d15b7, and stock pea-shooter exhaust. I will be doing an engine swap in the semi-near future, but dont know when or what engine will be going in (thinkin b16a2, or ls turbo). Im getting an RSX Type-S muffler, and having custom mandrel bent piping done at a muffler shop. My question is, can i go ahead and get the catback done now, with the d15b7, and it still be compatible with the swap? I was told that the swap will have a new header and cat that are a different length, therefore the piping will be wrong length, is this true?
