Default Catalytic Converters

Whats the difference between direct fit and universal Catalytic Converter? I know about the direct fit but the universal i'm not sure about. I have an Magnaflow cat-back exhaust system(not installed yet waiting on my header to come in) and looking into getting a Magnaflow Catalytic Converter.

isnt cat-back, the "cat" back, meaning you have the cat included?

Default Re: Catalytic Converters (TonyBlaz)

universal usually means welding your flanges, direct fit means it comes ready to bolt up, but costs more as its for a specific vehicle.
CATBACK means everything on the exhaust AFTER the cat, not including the cat.

There's a book about it.
1001 uses for a dead cat.
