Cat Converter 67 Code
98 Hatch 3DR.
Man plum colour
Hi guys, just finally got back for a test drive last night and my CEL came on. So I pulled the CEL code, and 67 came up (Cat Converter).
I pulled off the manifold cover (literally as the both bolt twisted right off, rusted out) and the manifold is cracked at the center (to no ones surprise probably.)
Anyways, would a cracked manifold throw the 67 code? And would this hurt my MPG. I'm leaving next week to travel 1/3 way cross canada so the MPG is going to affect my wallet.

Re: Cat Converter 67 Code
I know, but there was one sensor above and one below. I'm unaware of the system works. I am not a car person, I am however handy with my hands and want to learn.
Care to expand a little on the system operation.

Re: Cat Converter 67 Code
You have to change both on a dx....
the only way they sell it- is as 1 peice.
So...if your buying a cat conv...your buying a manifold....
the sensors...(upstream and downstream) oxygen sensors would throw a separate code..so they are fine.
code 67 means, order a new manifold with cat conv
