carpet SOAKED, any ideas?
94 cx, I picked this car up back in december. Just noticed today the carpet is SOAKED and puddles of water underneath.
Floor pans were rewelded and was a clean weld, undercoated underneath and inside, all body plugs reinstalled and sealed. Car was left gutted for 2 months after fixing floor pans, no water issues. Bay was wiretucked, but all firewall holes plugged. Door seals are good, A/c was deleted, car was sitting last few days during rain but windows were up. I had put a pair of side mirror block off plates on the car, they do not have the rubber seals like OEM side mirrors, but would that cause ALL this water in my car? I'm drawing a blank here...

heater core possibly? does your windshield have oil marks on it? does the water have a "sweet" smell? could be several things... need to know if it is fresh water/rain water or if it is coolant

its water for sure, not coolant. just lifted the car and inspected the undercoating where floor was welded, everythings good. all seals are present and in tact except for the upper seal on the hatch, but its dry in the trunk. double checked all firewall plugs, not missing any holes.
significantly more wet on passenger side.

is it in the front passenger side? if so there is a problem that these cars can inherit from the factory where the didn't put enough seam sealer near the firewall/ frame area not shure if its behind the fender or in the engine bay maybe someone with experience can chime in

problem solved!
After an hour of investigation and garden hose diag, turned out to be a leak at the hood hinges, wasn't properly sealed.

was it the rubber rain channel piece not sealed? it channels water from the windows down and out the edge of the fender, if it's missing the water runs under the door seal usually on the passenger side
