carbon fiber hood wont fit correctly
I just got my hood *(used from a friend that fit perfectly on his car)* and when i put it on it fits good on my driver side but terrible on my passenger side. its like raised up little less than half an inch above my headlight and wont really go down. a friend told me that if i put something over the hood *(like a blanket so it wont get scratched)* and put the heaviest thing i could find and let it sit over-night.. or leave the hood propped open all night long to let it bend and let the passenger side weigh itself down evenly with the drivers.. i was wondering if anyone had any other comments about it or advice about getting the hood to fit right. please post your comments......

I have the same problem with my spoon cf hood. the passenger side is raised around 1 inch or so near the headlights. i have yet to try to put a heavy object on it and leave overnight, but i don't think that'll work.

there are 1" rubber "stoppers" that prop the hood open located near you headlights, take them off and se if the problem corrects itseft, then put them back on and adjust them to support the hood, they screw in and out. also make sure that nothing else is hitting the hood and keeping it from seating all the way, its really doubtfull that your hood is really twisted like that.
after re-reading your posts i definatley think that this is the problem

Its not the rubber stopers. I put this hood on (which came off my car and fit perfect) and the stopper on the passenger side was all the way down and i had to raise the drivers side all the way up so that it would sorta straighten up. Oh well. Im pretty sure that the weight or the prop would fix the problem.

Every car is different reguardless if the same year and model, any aftermarket part is just that "an aftermarket part". They just need alittle TLC and some fittment help.
Weight sitting overnight on a cured fiber reinforced plastic panel to straiten it out........somehow I don't thing so. Maybe if you drive around with a 45 lbs plate on your hood all the time.....then that hood will be strait.

One reason is if your car has been in an accident, the second is that the latch needs to be adjusted. Even DG hoods are ill fitting sometimes and they do instruct you to reposition your latch if it does not fit right. Other than that I see no problem that I can think of.

So my stock hood fit perfect and then i bought a brand new vis hood and it fits like crap. Its all perfect on the passenger side but on the drivers side it fits good at the top but once it starts to get to the headlight it starts to raise. So on the drivers side it doesnt even sit on the bump stop
