sorry trunk duh. yeah the keyhold didnt align and the trunk flies open when i use the release.. i took the tension bars off and then the trunk wouldnt align to close. i had the worst time putting the bars back on. i had to use super strength. i doubt most people could do it without certain tools.. taking the tension bars off is no longer an option.

Home Depot more than likely has gas struts for doors but you can probaly think of a way how to put it on your trunk. GL

Put your hand on top of it and guide it up slowly so it does not fly up. Wouldn't that be an easy fix?

if he's using the release then he would have to pull the release button and run to the trunk and hold it down

So whats faster now? Your car because you just saved 11lbs, or your trunk lid? haha

wow. i dunno about that... but i could be wrong.
Anyway, you can add a weight (like 5lbs. or 10lbs., since you say you saved about 25lbs with the conversion) somewhere on the trunk, like behind the license plate might be most efficient.

i had that same problem with my STOCK trunk on my EJ1, btw. All i did was put my OEM spoiler back on. fixed.

Anything can be made rice with the proper touch. All they're saying is you found a way.

Yeah but is it purely carbon fiber or is it just fiber glass with carbon fiber laid on top just for look$.

I'm sure if you put your mind to it you could figure out some kind of solution.

make strap for it. then after you pop the trunk reach in and unhook the strap.
