Carbon Fiber Hood latching question HELP PLEASE
ok so i bought my eg hatch around a month ago. When i was looking at it everything seemed good on it but of course once you get it home and looking at t you find some little problems. I found that the hood latch works but the loop part on the hood is home made? and rusting. I cant get the hood closed at all i have tried numerous times and cant get it. I am wondering what the proper way to latch a CF hood is or do i get hood pins? if i was going to get pins i would want the aerolatch ones i think there called... any help and opinions would be AWESOME!

def get some hood pins
cf hood without hood pins isnt too safe...even if it does latch good

Re: Carbon Fiber Hood latching question HELP PLEASE
i ran into an issue with my cf hood also. mine was in good shape but couldn't get it to latch
i ended up solving it by putting a bunch of washers on the bolts in between the latch and the chassis
its been awhile but i think i ended up with 4 washers on each of the top bolts and none on the bottom bolt. its been working with no problems since then
good luck!

Re: Carbon Fiber Hood latching question HELP PLEASE
thanks for the help guys, my thing was that A its a ghettoed hood loop not OEM... and B i kindd find regular hood pins ricy, BUT i see the use for them now but i also was looking into the areo latch locking ones cause i dont want just anytone to pop the hood and be able to get to my engine and the aero latch ones seem like a cleaner look... so anyone got advice or any opinions on those?

one more question with those... how do they install i know with regular pins you drill but how would the drilling then cutting the CF work? is it easy or hard or what it seems really risky :/

Here is a very thorough walk through on how to install these hood pins. It's not for a Honda, but it's the same concept.
