Carbon fiber hatch install questions. Please help.
Just what is invloved with putting one of these things on a 95 Civic hatch? I know it is much more difficult than the hood but just how much. Any mods that need to be done? Simple hand tools or what? Anyone that has one please help. Thanks.
Ps:I looked in the faq thread but there was nothing.

It's pretty self explanitory. When I had one, I just pulled off the OEM one, placed it on the ground next to the CF one, and started transfering parts over. the only thing I had to do was trim the holes that hold the metal catch on each side of the tailgate. Not very difficult.

This is true, other than that there is not anything else you should have to do. Some times drilling is needed but if you spent the $$ it should just go right on.

just take your time and transfer all of the parts from the inside to the CF one. pay attention to where the rods connect to and how you got them out of the OEM one to figure out how to get them back in.
this is what you get when you are done...

After you put everything back on, you save between 10 and 15 pounds. Worth $400? I think not.

i've heard a lot of good stuff about the one JDMShit sells.
http://www.jdmshit.com/CFeghatch/
keep in mind that some are "race" versions that may not allow you to use the taillights,latch,etc....the one Newman sells bolts on like stock.

Not to be confused with "THE MAN"
Mine was almost the same color as the car (phantom grey) didn't have to drill or cut, but the plastic on the inside would not go back on. Then a week later it got stolen along with my hood and valve cover. But that car rests in piece now in the garage. But to get to the point of this I would never spend the money on one again. just my opinion

When I had one it was from VIS, the fitment wasn't bad, installation really wasn't tough at all, but the Dremmel came in handy for me.

Yeah, the VIS one I've actually personal done before in the past. The one I did for a friend, we ended up modifing a few things to get it to lineup. Overall, I wasn't to please since I spend nearly half a day on it. As matter of fact, all the VIS products I've personally done in the past, came out to my standard as a low rating on my end. Siebon stuff seems to be a great product as I used their hood.
The JDMshit I'm going to tried here soon, on my personal car hopefully. May post up a small thread on it.
Thanks rodrez
