Default Car won't start, any ideas?

93 Civic Si h/b 150k miles, timing belt, water pump, cam seals all changed one year ago. I'm not sure how long ago was the last time the car had its fuel pump or fuel filter changed. When I attempt to turn the motor over it goes but will not start. I went ahead and bought the choke/carb cleaner and when it is sprayed directly into the intake the engine will start but as soon as the spraying ceases, the motor will turn off. To troubleshoot and narrow down the possibilities, I also removed my air filter to see if that what was causing the problem. It did not seem to help at all. I'm guessing this sounds like some type of fuel problem. I'm wondering what I can do to narrow down the possibilities. If I relieve the fuel pressure bolts and turn the engine and fuel begins to pour out would that indicate that my fuel pump is working properly? If nothing comes out, would that indicate that my fuel pump has died?

My car was working perfectly fine this morning when I drove from home to work however lately I've had an sporaidic idle.
