car wont shift ingto gears after. clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, tranny install.
car will start with clutch pedal pressed but won shift gears. will go into gears with car off .hey I just got done installing a clutch kit and flywheel in my car. the clutch wont disengage. it will press enough to start the car but cant shift gears. adjusted the pushrod for the mc to max. fixed the play in the clutch (there was almost 2 inches of it). any ideas besides putting in a longer push rod in the sc?
there is a click about 3/4 of the way down. it sounds like its coming from the tranny but I can feel it in the clutch (it jolts). mc, and sc. any help would be great I need to get it done cause Its my only car.
I am almost positive that I didnt put the clutch on backwards
did some reasearch, almost positive that clutch plate is in right, and everything is bolted down properly. sc works only things with it is that the shift fork doesnt go to the very end of the square hole. I was thinking I could put a longer pushrod in there to see if that would work. just looking for something other than taking the tranny off again. but I know thats what I might have to do. any help is appreciated and again I did search just wanted to look for fresh ideas.

this might sound stupid but i seen it before. did u happen to put two pilot bearings in. i redid a persons tranny and found 2 pilot bearings. 1 on the flywheel and another 1 in between the flywheel and the clutch disc. it also had the same syptoms you are explaining

Sounds like you didnt put the throwout bearing holder on correctly if your hearing a click. Thats an easy fix with the transmission on (provided your throwout bearing didnt fall off).
Take off your clutch slave cylinder, then remove the boot on the transmission. Stick your finger in the back side (not the side that touches the slave) and feel the clip. Theres a little ball inside the transmission that the clip should be on. Check that.

that sounds like it could be my problem, also when the car is running i can see the throwout bearing fork shaking, and i can even feel it in the pedal. do you think that means its not on right

hey listen all who have this issue just figured it out. I was sent the wrong clutch plate. didnt even look for it to fit. they sent me one for a prelude. I will tell you that I ordered from lsd motor sports. I have had great service with them throughout this whole experience. I will report back depending on the way they handle this situation. what do you guys think. I have paid over 200 in lift fees. to find out that the equipment that I was sent was wrong. thanks for any input.Jon
