car won't rev past 6500-6800.....
its a 94 civic cx with a d16z6 swap....p28 ecu. I cannot rev to the limiter (7600) nor the redline (7200). And when it hits that certain rpm...it just jerks back like I just hit the limiter. Also there are no check engine lights....vtec wires are wired in correctly...etc.
If anyone has gone through something like this or knows of anything that would help I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
also searched a lot about it.....may have missed it though.

you sure ur ecu is a P28? i know a DX has a redline around 6500-6800. not saying ur stupid or anything, just might want to make sure its a p28 ecu. you might wanna try plugging in another OBD1 ecu just to make sure its not your ecu thats messed up.

the ecu is straight off of my other 94 civic (ex...d16z6), so I know the ecu is right. I'll try the plugs out....and maybe swap ignition/distributor too.
anyone know if too much or too less timing will do something like this?

maybe your tach is reading wrong? MY friend put an si gauge cluster in his ex and his car was hitting rev limiter around the same place as yours on the tach. He put his old cluster back in and it hit the normal rev limiter.

thats what I thought at first.....with my vafc.
so I swapped to a cluster with a tach....that was off just like the vafc was.

sounds like either fuel or spark. Have you jumped it for a code? I know you say there is no visible cel but still check it at the ecu.

Has to be spark, a timing retard or something. There should be a CEL
I would also check the CEL light to make sure its not blown. Last 2 clusters both had blown lights...
