car wont rev past 3500 rpm ?
The other day i went out to start my car and...nothing. I replaced the battery and it ran fine, of course. However, I suspected the alternator because noticed that my voltmeter jumps a little every now and then. Anyways, i started to remove the alt, and unplugged the bigass green plug on teh side, then figured i had better get to autozone and have them test it. I hooked the batt up and fired up the car, and halfway down the road noticed that the car wont rev past 3500. I remembered the green plug, and went home and plugged it in. Same problem, wont rev past 3500. Double checked it like 235253 times with teh same results.
also, its a obd1 D16z6 with b16 ECU (has run fine for over a year with that computer, so i know thats not the problem)
any ideas ? i cant exactly get it to autozone to test the alt.

running a p30 ecu should give you a CEL, maybe a knock sensor. But you ran it for a year, so....
Best bet to try a P28 from a friend and see if that changes it.
BTW, any CEL? If so, what code(s)?

what does it do when you say that it wont rev past 3500.
i just had a simular problem with my car but it was 2200 rpm and when i hit it i lostall power until i hitidle then it cam back. it turned outto be a fucked up input to my ecu putting it into limp mode

did you ground out on anything when removing the alt. and various wiring? The car will most likely have to be taken to the dealer so you can spend lots o cash. keep us udated when you find the problem

im not spending more than 500 on the car.
no i just pulled that one plug before i decided i should take it to be tested.
the TPS would have no reason to fail. The onlt varaible is that one alternator plug.
