Car wont move
Whats up guys...I had a CRX si that i swapped a 96 HX motor into - I'm pretty sure I used an 89 or a 90 Civic Si tranny and I installed an EXEDY clutch
Today I decided to swap my stock 92 D16Z6 for the HX motor...but use my stock tranny - I put my clutch in from the CRX and it fit and everything went together fine - car starts and runs fine but heres my problem --
CLUTCH HAS FEELING first off...when i put it into gear and let go of the clutch nothing happens...car still runs doesn't stall or anything just doesnt move anywhere. my only idea would be that the clutch isnt engaging or something but then I'm capable of switching gears with the car ON and withOUT the clutch easily...
kinda weird no? ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED BEFORE I SPEND HOURS ON PUTTING MY 92 Si Clutch back in...thanks guys

Re: Car wont move (Archidictus)
Like what? I never took the clutch off the motor -
All I did was put the EG clutch onto the splines of the EF tranny to make sure they were compatible and it fit...then i simply just put the tranny on the block
but now u got me thinking something is on backward I just don't know what.

Re: (Dark_Civic)
yea i got that pin in the linkage...
Clutch should be good because it was working 2 days ago in the CRX...never even unbolted the pressure plate off that motor - just swapped the trannys.

Re: (2lua)
When the car is off, you can feel it going into gear
even when the car is ON u can feel it going into gear but u can do it without the clutch and it goes in fine - thats the weird part

Good question there. That would keep your car from moving. Did you use the correct axles? Are they interchangable in this instance?

Re: (Archidictus)
Yea i used my stock axles because I used the D16Z6 trans...my hubs are all the same and stuff - my friend put my axles in while I wired up the motor and i double checked them and they were both out of the tranny about 2 inches. I put the driver side axle all the way in and finished that side and now I gotta go finish the pass. side axle -
If the PASSENGER side axle is out of the tranny an inch or 2 the car would just stay where it is even when the clutch is out? I talked to a few people and they said if i can shift gears without putting the clutch in when the car is ON...it must be the clutch - I decided to ask the goooood people of H-T lol..
thanks for all the replies guys I really appreciate it

I was thinking the same thing. The only thing I can think of is that he somehow neglected to put in the clutch disk.
You took the car off the jackstands, right?
