Car Wont Idle When Hot??? Please Help!
Hey Guys
Sorry for the lame post, but i am in a jam!
I got a stock 96 Civic DX with 133k
Recently the engine light came on and the car wouldnt hold an idle when warmed up. Ran great when cold and when at speed, but it keeps dying @ stoplights!
My neighbor (honda tech) came over and we pulled the code with his code reader and it said the code was for the "heated O2 sensor" (top one on the exhaust manifold). I got a new one and replaced it and erased the code. The car is still doing the exact same thing and i cant figure it out for the life of me. It has been through about 10 drive cycles so if the computer needed to reset, it should have by now.
I just got done doing an oil change, fuel filter change and an air filter change. I also pulled all the plugs and they looked fine!
Any ideas what might be wrong? This is what i use to get to work and i am in a jam!
Thanks
Kevin

its nothing to do with your o2 sensor its might have something to do with the coolant and vacum lines you should check those first

I agree, if you accidently pulled loose or broke a vaccume line then that could definatly cause your car to act that way, i would check any and all vaccume line around the air filter and any sensors around it also. Good luck

Well, i gave up and brought it to my local stealership and they are replacing a cracked exhaust manifold under the 150k emissions warranty! Sweet!
EDIT: Just got the car back, runs like a champ and i got a brand new exhaust manifold and catalytic converter! Best of all, it didnt cost me a dime! Woo Hoo!
