Default car wont heat up!

i know most people have a problem with over heating, but, i dont. my car heats up fine, but when i get on it like on the freeway and get up around 90 to 100 or so, the temp drops all the way down, and then stays down the rest of the time. W T F. is my water pump just working that good or whats the deal. is the thrmostat not closing? what do you guys think. i have a 92 hatch with the jdm d15b vtec. and actualy it kinda takes forever to heat up. i think its the thermostat, but just want to see what you guys think.

I'd go with your idea, check that thermostat. It's really cheap, try that first.

your thermostat is stuck open. Check your heater when your car is warmed up, if it doesn't get hot theres your problem. They're designed this way when they do fail so it won't overheat. But most times they get stuck closed and it overheats.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by Kista20 &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">The way a thermostat is designed if it sticks it's actually supposed to be stuck open but most of the time it doesn't work that way. Your thermostat is always closed when the coolant isn't at normal operating temp. the hot coolant stays inside the engine, as the engine gets up to temp. the thermostat allows the coolant to escape into the radiator bringing fresh cool coolant back into the engine. While the thermostat is stuck closed it does not allow fresh cool coolant into the engine, i.e. overheating. When it's stuck open the opposite happens and the coolant does not get warm i.e. heater does not blow hot air.
</TD></TR></TABLE>

that was taken from another post I had a hand in.

dude a thermostat is like $10-$15 for a honda one, Have you tried running the heater, does it get hot like it should? I had a friend who went through 3 thermostats till he finally got off his cheap *** and got an oem one, his kept getting stuck closed though. I would just go buy a thermostat and say goodbye to over-cooling. Oh and your car is most efficient at 185 degrees. It will not perform as good too cold or too hot.

yeah if both of your hoses are hot as hell it doesn't meen that your thermostat is fine. It's prolly stuck open just replace it I almost 100% guarntee it's it.
