Car won’t start no spark after coil urgent*

I have tested ignition coil and theres spark. However, there isn’t any spark afterwards (once distributor cap installed). I have replaced distributor cap and rotor but still no spark at spark plug.I don’t know what to check.Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Mr. theshodan please chime in thanksAnd also the only issue I can think of is throttle position sensor is not set at 0.45 specification just yet but is attached to throttlebody and calibrated via Hondata parameters.(I don’t think that is culprit of no spark)

Are the sparks from the coil strong? They need to be blue and able to jump more than 1/2 inch. If you only have weak yellow sparks that jump about 1/8 inch, the coil is bad (well it might be the ICM, but almost always the coil). The weak sparks will not make it through the cap and rotor to fire the plugs.

Also check that the rotor screw is secure. If the rotor is in the wrong position on the shaft, the coil could fire when the rotor is not pointing to one of the spark wire contacts.

Ohm test the coil. It's likely bad.

Spark jumps about half inch but is more red yellow color and have tested two different coils with similar results.

Might help to describe^ because the devil is always in the details.

I tested ignition accel ignition coil and OEM ignition coil where accel was a bit reder in color. Both showed spark only at ignition coil spring.

That's a subjective qualitative test. What about a quantitative test?

I’m not sure what you mean to imply but spark occurred multiple times as I would think it should. There wasn’t any hesitation or pauses of no spark at coil during test (both coils) .I can’t understand as to why spark won’t reach rotor. Brand new distributor cap and no traces of contact. I wonder if it would be best to purchase another distributor.

Your information could fit with a weak spark issue. Testing whether the coil is out of spec is a quantitative coil test done with a multimeter.

Accel coil module brand new. So, I find that testing of coil would be pointless. However, I just remembered a code 15 generated at one point but disappeared so may be culprit. however, test at ignition coil flickers as if ignition control module is good. Plus, my multi-meter has broken so can’t measure specifications.

I would disagree as it's easy to blow the coil if you check for spark improperly.

Regarding code 15, you need to check for voltage, continuity, and shorts at wires inside the distributor. A multimeter is cheap. You need one.

Also check for missing distributor parts and the general condition of the distributor.
