car WILL start with jdm ecu but WONT start with usdm ecu -b18c in civic-
car is 2000 civic ex with b18c...it runs fine with the jdm ecu the swap came with but will not start with a 98 (no immobilizer)usdm ecu i have to install and run for emission??? havent looked closely at the car yet but i know it gets fuel??? just wondering if there is a simple answer to this problem that someone knows about??? i dont know if my ckf sensor is wired correctly???? would that be it???

its probably looking for a crank trigger > some were actually on the crank with a huge cog on the crank gear

do you have a conversion harness dude? stupid question maybe but hard to help without all the info and what your doing. 98 and 00 are different pinouts as you already know maybe. CYP is in the dizzy. if your getting that code from the jdm ecu , than trace the 2 cyp wires from the dizzy to the ecu using diagrams. make sure there in the right spots and you have continuity. what year is the jdm ecu and swap?

Is it a USDM ITR ECU? When i ran an ITR ECU in my 99 civic, i had to move the fuel pump relay wire over to the next pin on the ecu plug, its something like A14 to A15, don't remember for sure though...

Re: car WILL start with jdm ecu but WONT start with usdm ecu -b18c in civic- (dubnine)
a 2000 ecu is not obd2a , regardless if its JDM. JDM ecu's utilize less sensors than us though , like only 1 o2 sensor , no CKF , no vtec pressure switch. couple differences. maybe theres something wrong with your conversion harness. just run the jdm ecu man, why wouldnt you. its an obd2 ecu that runs like obd1.

if all you need it for is to pass emissions , than find someone with the same year car as yours , but GSR , and borrow thier ecu for an hour dude. than when its done , throw the jdm ecu back in it.
