95 ex civic. it all started at work one day i was trying to start the car and it wouldnt so i check all cables to make sure everything was snug, tried and tried then bam turns on, ok im good. Next day same thing and waited a lil then turned on but since the day before yesterday nothing. Wont start cranks but does not start. Has spark, has fuel pressure, but injectors are not pulsing. Changed fuel filter was clogged the f up changed main relay, still nothing. Maybe ecu? not sure.
Checked grounds all over all good checked all fuses under dash and under hood multiple times. still nothing. Im at my wits end.
Please any ideas would be fantastic...

Is the starting problem still intermittent or is it now in full no-start mode?

When the engine won't start:

1) Will it start using starting fluid?

2) Do all four injector clips have voltage?

If yes to both^, then do this:

Unplug ECU connector A and test connector pins A23 and A24 for continuity to body ground. If fine, swap in a known good ECU.

question if the ECU is bad for whatever reason will the distributor still throw spark?

Update: I took out the distributor, opened her up and there is oil inside. I cleaned it up and put it back on then she started right up, but dies again, so i have come to the conclusion that it is the distributor. Unless.....

This^ is just a guess.

Do the troubleshooting tests. Also check for CEL codes. Otherwise, this thread is pointless.

should the injectors have voltage with the car in the on(III) position?

1.) It did act as if it was going to start when fluid was sprayed down intake manifold. It did not start completely.
2.) No voltage to injector clips.


The fuel pump does not prime with the key in the on position, I swapped in a brand new main relay and still nothing, only when i jump the pins on the main relay does the fuel pump turn on, other than that nothing. I checked and quadruple checked all fuses, made sure the thermostat ground was snug and grounded. Other than an ECU problem i wouldnt know what else to point my finger at.

Re-soldered old main relay: Problem fixed for the mean time will be some more resaerch.
