Car Will Not Start...
Okay, I know this is like the #1 problem on H-T, but only because everyone has a different situation or story. Here's mine.
I bought a new wheel bearing today, took my knuckle, hub, caliper off the car so I could get the new wheel bearing pressed. In the mean time we figured we'd run a compression test just for the hell of it. I just had my engine rebuilt in October and dropped the compression in my H22 fro 10.6:1 down to 9.1:1. It ran these numbers: 160 - 165 - 160 - 165. I was pretty happy. Anyways we put the plugs back in, plugged in the wires and it will NOT start. We assumed we flooded it when running the compression test, so we let it sit. I even disconnected the injectors while cranking for a little just to get some excess gas out of the cylinder (not sure if this even works). Anyways, tried again, and of course, nothing. So I took out my NGKs and put some junk Autolites in it, that my buddy ran in his Honda yesterday. Still nothing. The fuel pump is winding when the key is forward. You can smell the gas, and the plugs are getting spark. We removed a plug and attached it to a wire and yes they all spark. WTF is going on guys? Help me please.
Thanks,
Rob
