Car vibrates a lot after swap
Just swapped a b18a1 into my 2000 dx hatchback.
The car vibrates like crazy. The car idles just fine with no noise, but as soon as I give it any gas the entire car vibrates and it's very loud and annoying, especially as I'm driving down the road.
I've checked my mounts, they seem very tight. I've narrowed it down to the drivers side of the car. Had my hood popped and revved the engine as I looked around, and it's definitely coming from that side of the car. It does this whether the car is in motion or not!!! Let me stress that so nobody says axles. The car can be sitting not moving at all.
I suspected a mount, but I don't know what to look for. Here's the deal, for whatever reason one of the mounts is aftermarket. It's the drivers side engine mount. I'm not sure if that could have this effect or not. I plan on replacing it with an OEM mount, eventually. The mount is silver with an orange insert. Don't know what it is. I didn't buy them, the previous owner had them with the swap.
I used to have Hasports on my old car, and it was not nearly as bad as this. I actually liked those.
The other thing is that when I turn somewhat hard to the left, for example going around a roundabout, the vibration stops and the car sounds great as I'm turning.
Any ideas? Could it be a mount? Could it be something other than a mount?

Re: Car vibrates a lot after swap
Sound like your motor mounts are torn out but I could be wrong, could also be your axle cv bearings are wore out, wheel bearings and yes aftermarket motor mounts will make your car vibrate alot compare to stock mounts.

yea a stock mount should fix it. sounds like what in there is going to be quite solid in comparison and therefore transfers a lot of the vibrations from the engine into the passenger compartment.

I'll give it a shot guys. Sounds like a legit solution. I will be needing a 99-00 SI mount correct? Or will a D series mount work? I've gotten mixed answers while searching. Don't know if it's the mount itself or the bracket over the mount that's different.
