Alright guys, i have an 94 Ex w. 5spd and today when i was on the Highway. I was doing like 80mph and i *notice* my Speedometer drop from 80 to like 60 and then my "ABS" light would flash. And then like a few seconds later everything would be normal. Take in mind this happend 2 times on my way to work. Do you know what would be the problem?... Now my tranny. There is this wierd smell. Like mostly everytime I turn off my car this smells comes alive. The smell i believe is to be like plastic burning and bbq burning (if you can imagine that). This smell doesnt always happens, but i was just wondering if it could be my tranny. Scratch 4 2x in the past two days!!

BTW: My speedo going dead or whatever.. Well i could still drive my car normal. Still made 5th gear strong. And would it be time for me to get a tune-up now?

You might have a short somewhere. Have you ever burnt out something electrical? Is it the same smell?

Well i dont know if i burnt out anything. Havent yet, that i know of. Would that be the smell problem and my car turning off?

was the car new when you got it?
check all fuses and make sure they haven't been tampered with, ie. wrapped with tin foil to make connection.

Naw i just got it for Xmas ('02). So not new for me. So i shoud check my fuse box under my steering wheel? To see if any thing is wrong. And what do you mean by foil wrapped connection. What could be possibly foiled wrapped. And the olny where the fuses could be are under the wheel right?

check both boxes under the wheel and in the engine bay. Just pull each one out one by one and look for anything fishy.
make sure you put them back in tghe same place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

my friends dx made a funny smell once, im used to that smell from my electronics lab, that just happened to be accomponied by his car turning off and failing to start again. it turned out to be a capacitor in the ecu leaked/blew. fried a nice area around it.
