Default Car is too...COLD? WTF?

Ok so I bought this car and it had a Del Sol radiator...its a d15, btw...so I'm figuring this is what was causing the car to run extermely cool, so I bought an OEM replacement and to my surmise, I'm still freezing...the car takes forever to get warm, and when it does, and I'm driving down the road and turn the heat on, I then return back down to the C mark and my heat gets cold...is my thermo stuck open? I'm lost.

Thanks, Josh

you're in FL and you are cold? what the hell? lol.

i have a d16 del sol and in the dead winter my car never really gets warm but i am talking below zero days.

the only thing you really can do is swap out the thermostat, which is a quick job anyway. i replaced the thermostat in my car and it still runs cool in the winter months. it is a pretty thermal efficient engine so it's not producing ton's of heat anyway. you could also go up one temperature range with the thermostat...

some people cover a small section of the radiator with cardboard in the winter. i have never been that cold in that car to go to that length tho...

lol it gets into the teens here where I live in FL, so ya its cold I'm going to try swapping out the thermo, its just incredible that having the heat on pulls every bit of the engine temperature down to C again.

check the thermostat. but when i bought my car in MN the owner had a piece of plastic covering the bumper so no air could get to the radiator. i tore it off because it was ugly and noticed no increase or decrease.

it is only a 1.5-1.6L engine it can't generate much heat on really cold days.
