Car Storage Question
I'm getting ready to put the Si in for the winter and had a question.
Of course I'm going to put sta-bil in the tank, but why does the manual say to fill the tank? What is the point of this? I was planning on filling it halfway, then when spring comes around, I'll fill it the rest of the way with fresh gas.
Any insights?

You want to completely fill the gas tank so moisture does not collect and rust the tank. Stabil in the gas helps preserve it until spring and is highly recommended.
I also fog the engine to help prevent cylinder walls, etc from rusting although this is probably optional. Fogging is done by buying fogging oil (autoparts store or marina will sell this) and getting the engine revving to around 1500-2000 revs and spraying the fogging oil into the intake until the exhaust smokes a fair amount and then immediately shut it down and park for the winter. If you run the engine after fogging it, you will burn all the oil out and not protect anything. I do this to my ITC CRX, boat and motorcycle when I had it and have not had any problems with internal engine parts rusting.

That makes sense.
This is the second winter I'll be storing the Si. Last winter I ran it for about 10 min every 3 weeks or so per the owners manual. Would that be enough to keep the internals free from moisture without fogging it? It will be stored in a garage and it will be covered. I still have to wash and wax it. It's been hard to find time.

When I had the Si for the first winter, it was on the stock wheels. In the spring, the tires had flat spots, but they went away after 5 min of driving. I have 17's now and I'm not going to risk anything with the stiff sidewalls so I put the stocks back on.
