well im driving down the road after i switched my main relay with a BRAND NEW one. i drive for 2 1/2 hours and then it happens again....MY CAR JUST DIES! all my dash lights come on like i turned it off, BUT MY CLOCK AND RADIO dies when my car dies...ive rigged my fuelpump to a switch so it stays on..but if i didnt wire it to a switch it wouldnt come on at all after the car shuts off............give it 5 minutes...she cranks right back up -----wait for it-----sputters and dies.......wtf is this?!?! brand new dizzy, main relay, plugs and wires, ive changed the ecu and it still shut off...i dunno what this is

try your ground on the driver door sill might be corroded.

There's a recall on this item. If you search, there's tons of people with this problem. I was one of them.

yes but you mentioned...."you turn the key, then nothing". When my car dies..the dash lights stay on but the clock and radio die. when i turn the key back then forwards i can crank the car but it will just turn turn turn turn ...its not like when i turn the key nothing happens......i thnk i have a diffrent problem than the ignition switch....because im getting ignition....


remember my fuel pump dont come on when it shuts off....wait 5 minutes....fuel pump comes right back on......
i rigged fuel pump up to switch so now it dont shut off...but the car still dies

I think I have the same problem some times, but it's not all the times. Sometimes when I turn the key the car will start, sputter, and die, with all the lights on and whatnot. And a very long time ago it has happened that the car just died while stopped at a red light, etc, but that only happened twice...

When it does turn, start, and die, I try to turn it on again and nothing.. or it'll start again and die the same way. I've found that sometimes starting and giving it some gas will make it stay alive, no idea what the problem might be or if our problems are related though. I'll check to see if anyone has a solution and if I find anything out I'll let you know

Hey bro by any chance do you have an after market tach on.If so where do you have it connected to. The reason i ask i had the same problem ill be cruise for good wile and it just shut's off so i changed the rotor on my distributor and took my tach off and it has int shut off in months

nah man i dont have a tach or anything like that....i changed the dizzy...but it could still be [freak]ing up......my car ran fine for about a month....then it starts acting like shittt
