Sounds like your alignment is fucked. Are you tires balanced?

alignment wont cause a shake or a pull when accelerating. broke motor mounts/tranny mounts will cause torque steer which sounds like what you are experiencing. if the shake is at certain RPMs like you explain check the crank pulley for being bent, also have your axles checked out, if the inner tri-pod has just a little play it will cause your shaking and pulling when accelerating.

without an lsd tranny, torque steer is noticed with perfectly good motor mounts. the torque steer is normal, what gear are you in when it shakes? if youre on the freeway in 4th or fifth gear at 3k, your alignment may need to be set and your wheels may need balancing.

More than likely this. Also, could be the alignment as well.

it sounds like a motor mount or tranny mount, but if it's STOPPING at 3k, that isn't a motor mount. Have a 4 wheel alignment done anyway though, that can easily cause problems, I don't know what's causing that pull problem though :-\

im trying to tell you that an alignment wont cause a shimmy/shake/vibration. 90% of the customers that come to my shop for an alignment say they need it for a shimmy in the wheel, and it never fixes it. almost 100% of the time tire/wheel related. get an alignment if you want but dont expect anything to change.

My car was shaking like crazy accelerating (around 2000-4000rpm... (I have to guess because I don't have a tach))

I got an alignment and it fixed the crazy vibration accelerating

(H22 in 95 Hatch)....

if you say so..... but in my 6yrs of professionally doing alignments, brakes, suspension for a living (among other things) i have found there is NO POSSIBLE WAY AN ALIGNMENT CAN CAUSE A VIBRATION. sorry

oh i should say if the alignment shop or whatever seen a more worn tire or whatever and swap it to somewhere else on the car that would have taken care or atleast made the vibration less noticeable.

can't believe I didn't see that it was the axle, I had the same problem in my probe awhile, it would pull to one side (forgot which) and it vibrated - I dued it to the fact that a rim was bent on that side, but after I replaced it, it did nothing, so I put it up on a lift and I noticed all the fluid coming out of the axle boot, replaced the axle boot (and the lower A-Frame was messed up to replaced that too) and it was fine...
