the car runs poorly after installed oem itr intake cam
it is a obd1 b16a engine and i just intalled a oem itr intake cam, no exhaust cam. still using my b16a exhaust cam. checked the timing, adjusted the valve lash spaces.. everything is perfect. not a teeth skipped, put everything back together. fires it up and it idel and runs poorly.and cranking, sounds like a diesel engine..and idel at really low rpm like 500rpm when engine is cold
the only thing i can think of is , i installed dizzy 180 opposite. but it slided right in with any force, the other 180 degree around will need to be push in by force and it wont go all the way in. so some one please help help
is it because i just intalled itr intake cam only? should i install itr exhaust cam too or ?
PS> i have a chipped p28 ecu

are you sure the valve lash is adjusted correct. i saw a guy adjust some one time to tight and it was slow to start ,low idle, no power and it ground the cams down

yeah i am pretty sure the valve lash is done the right way. cause it is not my first time to adjust valve lash. i am going to pull timing belt off and redo it tomorrow and see if that helps

Yes the dizzy only goes in one way, with ease. If it was backwards it wouldnt even start. Im think it could prossibly be the the fact your using 2 diff cam profiles but i cant say for sure b/c the ctr's have different profiles. You said everything was perfect but is the ign. timing right? I think its between the timing or valve lash.

wow, way to come into a post and say NOTHING that had anything to do with the OP's problem. Good job.
To the OP, i have CTR cams in my car and my idle is low, not as low as yours but definitely not stock. The only thing i can say is check valve lash and if not, timing could be an issue. And it might sound stupid but check the firing order as well, since you took the dizzy off you might have messed up something in the order.

You need to get the car tuned for that cam, Its not the same specs as a b16a therfore it will run like ****.. Call a tuner and ask them, But i would have to say tuning.
Also double check your valve's make sure they are adjusted to itr spec's not b16a

Re: the car runs poorly after installed oem itr intake cam (Powered by VTEC)
way back when in the mid '90's when i was a noob i did a timing belt change and i adjusted the valve lash using the wrong units and ended up with gaps way too wide. the car sounded like a tractor diesel. I think i looked at 0.15mm in the book, and used .015 inches.
