car running rich help
i have a em1 and just the other day after we replace the cat and took the knock senser out, but put it back in when we're finish. the car start running rich all the time. but if i remember correctly before the car was running stouch. the reason why i know why it was running like that was because i got the air/fuel guages in the car which tells. ( i bought the car with it already hook up ) so could it be that we mess up the KS after taking it out? and is a stock b16 suppose to be running rich?

Re: car running rich help
Check the TPS connector. Make sure it's hooked up to the correct wires. Check for any corrosion or dirt in the terminals. Have you ever adjusted the TPS before? Did you remove any other connectors when you replaced the knock sensor? If not, you may have tugged on the TPS wires since I think they run off of the same bundle.

1st things first. no engine is "supposed" to run rich. 2nd replace you're spark plugs with ngk's. also if you read gauge in correctly one might think its running rich. also backwards spark plug wires obviously would run bad but will make it run rich. if you're car really is running rich u will see a gathering of carbon on you're back bumper like splatters

Re: car running rich help
afaik you only get a TPS code when there is no signal from the TPS. If you replaced it, I'm fairly certain replacing the TB won't help. Just want to save you some unnecessary work. If there's voltage at the TPS output wire, you should do a quick check to see if there's voltage at the ECU end of the same wire.
