Default car ran hot , now it wont start. help

i have a turbo built z6, and it has a bad thermostat gasket which results in coolant leaking. well i usually fill it up everyday but last night i forgot and i was driving for like 15 minutes and my temp needle started to go up. it got alittle below the H and stayed there. i then just got upto 90mph on the freeway and just put my car in nuetral and coasted as long as i could and did that for acouple miles. when i got off the freeway i stopped off in some random persons driveway and shut it off for a 10 minutes. when i went to restart it all it would do is make a clicking noise once and i could hear my fuel pump. well i turned the key off and tried it about 5 times before i got it to start. well i just kept coasting it all the way till i got home and shut it off. well today i goto start it and all its doing is making that clicking noise again. i have no cel's and i can hear my fuel pump. I checked all my grounds and even pulled the neg bat terminal in attempt to "reset" the ecu. nothing. i was thinking its something electrical. anybody got any ideas? thx

It's very hard to tell w/o being there and what kind of conditions you drove it with it over heating..

But I would start by checking compression & do leak test. Look over the whole thing.

Piston rings or your head coulc be warped making the cam not want to turn.

I hope though that none of this is true and it's something simple. I don't like to hear of anyone going through what you could be going through. Good luck and let us know what you find.

Also you can try and turn the crank at the main pully. Try it in reverse of what the engine normally turns.

Make sure battery is fully charged. It's probably something simple.

Also see if you can move the engine by push starting it.

Ouch man.. this is sounding ugly. Now, don't for one second think I know anything about hondas, but i do have some experience in the motoring field. Sounds like bad news Bud. I had a supercharged bonneville ssei. I was being an idiot crusing at 120mph w/ an oil pump that was shot. I seized the main bearings. You may have done the same. My motor wouldn't crank, and it sounded like somebody dropped a pound of nails down the intake when it blew. Try pushing starting it. Try disconnecting the accesory pullys and try starting it (yep; believe it or not an accesory drive thats seized can in fact stop your motor from cranking).Try turning the crank pully w/ a breaker bar. And if none of that works, you have a jacked up piston, cam bearings, possibly crank etc.

i doubt you locked the motor up, its a honda, just grab a ratchet and socket and turn the motor over by hand (counterclockwise, i will add). probably something stupid like loose starter connection or something.

Hey ya never know. I didn't think I locked the motor either, but sure as **** the cam bearings were melted more than molten steel at an iron plant :D It could be a starter or solenoid, it could be a ground (chassis ground, battery ground, starter ground), it could be theres a short in the ignition for that matter.. but like we've said, try spinning the crank pulley.

ok, thats a relief, i just hooked up a wrench to my crank bolt and the crank spins, so nothing is seized.

for future referance, it's still possible the water pump and oil pump came as faulty from the factory, but good.. I'm glad the crank still spins. Now, go check your grounds. Your starter, battery, and chassis ground. Then report back!

why the heck would you drive a car leaking coolant? Get it fixed then see what happens. Not to be an *** but it is easy, you fried the motor.

Just because it spins.

Doesn't mean it isn't dead.

Your starter got too ******* hot. End of story, not "fried pistons" not some other crap that some moron decided to make up. You know what, rotate the air in the tires first to see if that helps though.
