Default Car ran hot, blew the radiator...

Well the LX ran hot again, I think it has a blown head gasket. Anyways I was pissed off cause it wouldnt start today and had no power at all once it did. So limping it home not paying attention to my gauges and it starts steaming from under the hood, saw the gauge and knew what happened. Got it home and filled the radiator and watched it just spit water from the top tank where it seals.

So, I ordered a new one for $40 but until it gets here is there anything I can do to slow the leak down. It sprays water when you rev it past 1200 RPMS.

Stop leak!!

My buddy had bad holes in his 88 burban cooling system.

Put that in and it stopped.

Ford puts a type of this in there new vehicles b4 they even start a vehicle for the first time. Or so I've heard.

My friend used it and hasn't had to flush it yet.

Granted, he does have a Chevy 350, but I do believe that it will at least be a good temporary fix.

if it's spraying water out the plastic end caps, you could always try old faithful jb weld, and they make plastic weld as well. I tried it on mine when i got a crack, it held up for a day or so.

If a radiator has a crack (not a punctured hole) it will only get better. I've seen people try to repair it. Only thing to do is replace it.

I only live liek 10 minutes from work though. And it doesnt seem to be cracked but I havent taken it off. Its leaking from where the tank seals to the radiator.

oh, just keep filling it with water. dont use coolant and contiminate our drinking water once it gets into the sewers lol. keep a 1 gallon jug in your trunk. like an emptied milk jug. fill it with water just in case. I doubt your car would warm up to full operating temp if its like 10min a couple stop lights and you're there. no biggy.
