just installed skunk 2 mani......overheating liike crazy, putting antifreeze and water in and its just coming out the bottom of some line like its open as ****......anyone know which one it could be??

christ. clean off head where old gasket was (yea u do have to pull the skunk2) then proceed to do the same to the im (provided u put one on) and tighten the bolts down. that oughtta do it for u, champ

There are only two coolant hoses that come off the ITR i/m (same as the skunk2). So look with you own eyes and see where the coolant is leaking from, because the leak is also most likely the cause of the over heating. And it could be the gasket seal like 95eghatch said. Hope everything works out.

yeah its not that hard to figure it out, just look around to see where the coolant is coming from. make sure you check the IACV and FITV coolant hoses bc maybe u forgot those? did you scrape all of the old gasket off before you put the new gasket and mani back on? or did you re-use the old gasket?

on my 99 SI, i had to plug up one of the coolant lines w/ a vaccumm plug.. dunno if thats the case for you... There shouldn't be any reason why youre losing coolant. you have to scrape off the old gasket compeletely! mainly near the exhaust ports, etc, and the coolant hole.

i reused the old gasket, it fit PERFECTLY

Don't know about the Skunk2, but my AEBS has an extra coolant fitting next to the thermostat bypass fitting (next to the #4 runner) that I had to cap.

dont forget to check the heater core hose....goes from firewall to thermostat housing I belive.....That happened to me awhile back, scared the crapouttame.

well dur. thats y ur losing coolant. never ever ever EVER reuse gaskets, especially important ones like that. now uve gotta do all ur work over again. sucks but the im gasket is like 12 bucks

Same thing happened to me, but it should be pretty obvious where it's coming from.

Like jamison182 said, it might be the heater core hose under the distributor cap/rotor, hope ya fix it dude

fixed coolant leak, now vaccum leak wont go away, car is idling madddd high

do you have a digi cam? if so post pics of your work so maybe we can see if you hooked things up right.

oh yeah, so where did you find out the coolant leak was coming from?

did you put a new gasket on?? cause if you didn't that i where it is leaking from...either that or you put throttlebody gasket on wrong!!

its overheating but there is no coolant leaking now?

just make sure you dont mix coolant lines with vacuum lines.... you will be replacing engines if you do.

i think it is time you took the car to someone who knows what they are doing....you are going to loose your engine if you keep working on it yourself!!

overheating problem fixed, now its idling tooo high , i thikn its the thottle cable, might be on too tight

didnt put a clamp on a coolant line under the tb, it was leaking all over.......but now its idling SO high, im not sure if its a vacuum leak or the throttle cable is too tight
