Go find out. Test drive it for about an hour. Its warming up outside also. Remember to make sure the heat blows through the heater and watch for white smoke incase the head gasket or head was warped. If theres no smoke and the car dosent overheat/spark knock then I would prolly get it. Especially if a swap is in the near future!

YES it is a nono cause the pistons rings could/will fail... and start using olie.. and lose HP.. but i would still run "fine" ...

mine has been overheatet by the other owner and HP dropped and olie uses went up... and termostat was killed... but still runs like a champ with 155,000 miles on it ! if you look away from the lose of a few HP and some oil use..

Oh come on. Just bacause a car has been over heated dosent mean ****.

My car gets up to max 210. If it gets to 220, I consider that over heating. I then check everything and notice, wow,... the radiator hose is frozen because it didnt have any anti-freese.

I then wait untill it warms up outside, and put the proper coolant / antifreeze mixture in and ensure the fluid that was frozen has now melted and wala? the cars FINE.

Just because a car has been overheated dosent mean its going to BURN RINGS.

Now, if joe mama goes out and says, aww the temp guage is just below the H so, its ok.. and drives around all day untill the engine bay is smoking or whatever then YES... theres an issue..

Be discriptive with the seller and check the car out carefully!

Not to mention, you can always do a compression check in like, 10 minutes!
