Car not starting opinions or soultions welcome.
I have a friend with a 95 Nissian Altima. Yeah yeah not a honda but this is a general automotove problem I think. Well she was backing out of her parking spot and she backed into a concrete pillar. not a lot of damage at all just scratched her bumper cover. Well now her car won't start. Nissian says there should not be a fuel cut off on her car. The fuel pump will prime and gives the car enough fuel to turn over and start but it soon dies seconds after starting.
Toss out your opinions or suggestions for a fix if you have any experience or know what might be the issue to takcle. Thanks.

Check the fuel pump connector to see if it came loose......i work at nissan and we have had some altima's come in with no start's due to loose connector at fuel pump......i hope this helps.

i just went through this on an altima like a 93 with a 2.4 i think. anyway the seal in the distributor goes bad and leaks oil in the cap. i talked to a buddy at nissan and its common. it had the same thing it would run for a second then die. it intermitanly had spark. try that it worked for me.

What dohc notc said about the seal in the distributor going bad and leaking oil into cap causing a no spark condition......is also a common cause.

i've also seen a alternator over charge the system due to a short the lower resistance caused an increase in current flow (amperes) through the short causing the ECU to shut the car down when the system reached around 16 volts to prevent damage.
(you can check this by putting a voltmeter on the battery and montior the voltage just before the car dies or unplug the alternator and see if the car runs a little longer then it usually those before it dies......just another idea)
