Car not starting
Alright, I am having this wierd problem with my 96 civic ex all of a sudden. It is not the main relay, I know all about those. The other day, I was driving it home from work, and we had a down pour of rain, the streets where almost flooding, and I was driving throught it. My car sputtered and tried to die a couple of times(getting water up in the intake, common, happen's with the cold air intake I have). Any way now when I go to start the car, the starter wont kick on. I have to hold it for awhile (30secs-1min), then all of a sudden the starter will work and the car is good. This happens every single time I try to start the car now.
Anybody have any advice or have heard of this before? Or is the starter going bad?

for one u should of never drive in a almost flooding water with a cold air intake..
good chance that u have water in ur engine and will cause major damage in the long run..
if ur car was running fine before u drive it throught a big pudle of water and now its acting up
then you might have to get a new motor cause it will lock up on u...
try not to drive it until u really know y ur car is not staring...
other check for fuel, spark, power, and compression. bc u have to have all 4 working for a car to start

lol... I already told you that the motor is perfectly fine once started.
Alright beyond the point about the cold air intake, the car run's perfectly fine once started. It is not hydro locked, there is no water in the engine.
It is getting it to start is the problem. Anybody ever had this problem or know what it could be?

check for water/moisture in the distributor and the spark plug wells.. you may have spashed some water up high in the engine bay by when you went through the deep water.
