Default Car is making some serious vibrating feeling

My girl's 98 civic ex has been recently been making a really bad vibrating feeling evertime we accelerate above 60mph but once I let go of the gas it stops and then as soon as I tap on the gas the steering wheel starts to shake again. Especially from the front. I tried getting the car align but that did nothing. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be wrong. And it is only when I accelerate above 60 mph anything under that the car feels solid.

do you have aftermarket wheels? if so, did you get hubcentric rings for them?

oh and have your wheels check, they could be unbalanced. do they still have the balancing weights on them? did they fall of?

I know it sounds simple, but have you retorqued your lugs? Is it an automatic or a manual transmission? When was the last time you got the wheels balanced (the existance of weights doesn't mean squat).

I'm afraid that it's probably not a balancing issue since it only happens when you step on the gas. We can probably do better for you if you tell us everything about the car.

If it were the axles it wouldn't only happen on-throttle at 60mph+.

Well that's what happened to mine. Mine wouldn't click on turns like they normally would when axels go bad, but only made the car vibrate accelerating past 60. Then after 75 it would stop. And when I went slower than 60, they'd stop vibration. Checked and both CV boots were totally shredded. Had to get new axles. My problem was solved. May not be the same for this guy, but that's a possibility.

Thanks for all the feedback so far. Ok about the car. It is a 98 Honda Civic Ex 2 door totally stock, automatic, stock rims(hubcaps), 77000 miles, car was just aligned and balanced, it was in an accident from the previous owner over 2 years ago but the problem just started about a month ago. Guy at shop said that the chasis is a little bent from the accident which is why the car may drift to the right. But it has been like that since we bought the car about a year and half ago. So I dont think this vibrating feeling should be related to the bent chasis being that its been like this for over 2 years. Is there anyway I can check to see if the axels are bad?

To check the halfshaft you will more than likely need to check the inboard cv joints. Check for obvious broke boots first, then start actually checking for play in the joint. You may also want to check to make sure that the tires are round. You can balance an out of round tire, but it will still vibrate. Kind of like balancing and egg.
