My car recently started making bumping sounds that have become more and more aparent. It kind of sounds like I am running over the small devider bumps on a freeway when I release my gas and begin to coast down the road. It dosn't make that noise when I am accelerating... Please help.. the only lead I have, and am going to check on later today, is that the noise is possibly a sign that my water pump is out. Thanks..

u cud be right with the halfshaft.sometimes a worn inner cv joint can give the kind of vibration u describe,specially when decelarating.

is it when ur driving straight or when ur making turns?

when ur making turns its most likely the drive axles, if you're going straight it may be your bearings.

i've had both gone bad at the same time, instantly got new axles..but kept making noise only when i was driving straight though, so those are my bearings.
