Car looses power every 20 minutes and dies.
I have a '95 Civic EX 5spd.
I am bone stock except for short air intake and exhaust.
I have the d16z6 engine w/ 195,000 miles. I have as of last week been experiencing on occasion, but has recently become more frequent, a lost of power and occasional back-firing through low-high rpm bands.
I have on 3 different occasions received although not everytime, and engine code 3. I looked it up and it pointed to the MAP sensor.
I looked around and the hose going to it looks fine, I put on new spark plug wires and plugs earlier last week. My apexi turbo timer has an air/fuel reading and it seems to generally be steady through the times the car looses power, sometimes it will drop from the normal 14.3-14.7 to as low as 10.0
Last weekend the car died in the McDonald's parking lot. It idled fine, it reved fine, however, the minute i began to move (meaning taking my foot off of the clutch to begin to accelerate) the car would die.
It would take 15 seconds to start the car and then I could try again. Eventually I was able to drive away.
Generally the car will run fine and then I will get warning signs that it is about to start acting crazy. The symptoms are that I will hold my foot steady on the gas while driving and then it will start to slow down and then jerk, and sometimes backfire.
Could there be any other problems causing these symptoms other than the MAP sensor?

i had a similar prob with my old teg...it could be the ignitor...but with mine it was the ecu...are there any other signs like the rpm needle bouncing or stuff?

rpms do not bounce, however, I have a new ecu now and the car behaves the same way it did with the other ecu.
I just swapped out the cap and rotor and I noticed inside the cap, there was a small puddle of oil resting in it but not touching any of the metal connections and they were all dry.
I guess I will see if this helps. Any ideas?

Sounds like a problem with the PGM-FI relay. If it has been really hot lately where you are, and this problem occurs when its really hot inside the passenger compartment of the the car, then thats what it could be.

Here are a couple of links from other posts about the fuel relay.
