Car lagging when shifting from 1st to 2nd

Default Car lagging when shifting from 1st to 2nd
Okay so I have a 93 EG hatch.
When I shift at high rmps (6 1/2) from 1st to 2nd my car lags... BAD.
By LAG i mean it doesn't keep up with speed. the rpms drop to low and i have to build them back up.
I have a regular short ram intake and Headers 2 1/3 piping and Es Oval.
Please helt?
I have a feeling it may be my fuel injectors??? HELP thanks

Make sure the intake is tight. any check engine lights?

And this only occurs between the 1-2 shift, no where else?

Yeah my CEL comes on when i've been driving for like 15 min or more. other then that no light. BUT i have no CAT. so i'm thinking its cuz of that. i'm going to get it scanned soon for the light.

yeah my mechanic said i should change my timing belt cuz idk if the previous owner had ever changed it.

yeah only 1-2. 3rd is good RMPs don't drop way low
