car hesitates
i have a GS-R obd1 swap in my civic hatch. for about a month now it hesitates between 2000-8000 but only at light driving speeds, when i put my foot down a little more it seems to hesitate sometimes then takes off pretty well. also i have just noticed that my aftermarket take is jumping from time to time.. could this be because of a bad connection? i have a stock tach that i just installed and it hasn't jumped. could this be causing my prob? i have changed, cap, rotor, spark plugs, wires. fuel filter.. any help would be great thanks

it is possible, check your MAP and TPS output voltages while driving and check the o2 output. it is also possible you have a bad ground somewhere, or missing ground. your head, block, transmission, battery must be securely grounded.

also my car is throwing no codes at all.. it did throw a code for an oxygen heater about 3 weeks ago but i cleared the codes and it never came back.. i checked all the wiring to the o2 senssor and found one lose wire.. could this still be the prob.. i noticed you said something about my o2 sensor

make sure that the wire between the o2 and the ecu is secure and has no resistance. bad connections are a usual cause of drivability problems. make sure your o2 sensor output is moving around .45v when you are driving.

drivability problems are usually associated with vaccum leaks, bad grounds, bad connections. your tps sensor, map, O2 and vehicle speed sensor should all have solid connections. if any are flimsy and or cracked. replace. i cannot stress that enough. the hesitation does not sound like a ground to me. a ground would also cause rough idling. same with ignition components. im going to say that your O2 sensor is mis reading your air/fuel ratio at that rpm for some reason. or, you have a vaccum leak. that should keep you busy. haha. good luck man.

If the timing belt looks fine, then consider tuning it a bit. I had a similar problem with my civic. I put on a new timing belt and tuned it a little and the problem went away. I don't know if this happens to you, but when I would go up a hill, it seemed sluggish and would even sputter a bit. Besides, tuning never hurts.
