Default Car got hit, have a few questions...

A person at my school backed into my car today in the parking lot. They were doing like 2-3 mph but it still fucked some **** up. The bumper is cracked and the metal piece below the tail light is fucked.

The kid agreed to pay for it, his parents pay for everything and he is rich, so I'm not worried.

Anyway, should I just take it to my dealership and let them do everything, or should I take it to a body shop.

Who would do better work in your opinion??

well, thats what I am wondering, who would do the best work?? Do dealerships do good collision repairs?

I am not worried about the price at all, if the place that does the best job is also the cheapest, then so be it.

I think it doesnt matter. I used to work at a body shop and...... Usually people after they get some experience they either apply to work at a higher end body shop or the dealership b/c they offer better pay+ benefits.etc

i say go to either one, call up the dealership and see if they give you a LOANER car while yours is being fixed (some do some dont). Its up to you.

I'm not sure if you did this or not, but I'm going to tell you anyways. Any time something like this happens and you don't file a police report, get EVERYTHING in writing no matter what the other person says.

As far as following through with your claim. Get estimates from whomever you would like to do the work. Which ever shops you go to, request to see some of their work to see if the quality is desirable. Takes those estimates to his parents.

Well, I would have done that, but I have known this kid for a few years, and his parents take care of everything. He totalled his old car, so his parents just bought him a brand new volvo b/c they are safer. They didnt say anything to him about it even though it was totally his fault. They were "just glad he was safe"

We were both happy that we won't have to deal with police or insurance.
